Midtown East


Midtown East is an $87 million, mixed-use development located along the newly expanded Monon Boulevard in the heart of Midtown, Carmel, in an area that was previously industrial. This development includes the Allied Solutions building, Sun King Spirits, the MJ Insurance building, Midtown Flats, and two free public parking garages: Midtown North Garage and Midtown South Garage.

Future commercial taxes from the project (TIF) were used to construct the two free parking garages, relocate transmission poles at the substation, and construct a portion of Midtown Plaza. In addition, the City also enhanced the Monon Trail and created the Monon Boulevard.

The vibrancy, walkability, and atmosphere created in the Carmel Midtown development produce some of the highest office rents in Central Indiana. Additionally, the developments in this area have attracted investors from outside of Indiana and two of the office buildings have already been sold.

The Carmel Redevelopment Commission partnered with Old Town Companies, Ambrose Property Group, and J.C. Hart Company, Inc. on this project. Construction of Midtown East commenced in July 2016 and was completed in January 2018. Midtown East and Midtown Plaza increased the assessed value of these city blocks by 4,116%.



Allied Solutions Building

The Allied Solutions building, home to the corporate headquarters for Allied Solutions, is a five-story building with 142,498 square feet of office space and 3,191 square feet of commercial. This building includes a sky bridge to connect the main office building to the Midtown North Garage and is adjacent to the newly constructed Midtown Plaza.

Construction of the Allied Solutions building commenced in July 2016 and was completed in October 2017.

Midtown North Garage

The Midtown North Garage is a 204,576 square-foot parking garage that provides 580-free public parking spaces. This building also contains 7,249 square feet of commercial space.

Construction of this garage commenced in July 2016 and was complete in January 2018.

The Midtown North Garage features a custom, 30’ X 30’, placemaking mural on the south façade that depicts landmarks in the Midtown area.

Midtown South Garage

The Midtown South Garage is a 112,701 square-foot parking garage that provides 308-free public parking spaces. This building also contains 1,850 square feet of office/retail space. The Midtown South Garage is home to the Carmel Redevelopment Commission office.

Sun King Spirits

Sun King Spirits is a 13,380 square-foot building located on Midtown Plaza. In addition to the distillery, the building contains a four-restaurant food hall.

Construction of Sun King Spirits commenced in August 2017 and was completed in July 2018.

MJ Insurance Building

The MJ Insurance building is located along the newly expanded Monon Boulevard and contains 81,464 square feet of office space. This building is home to the MJ Insurance headquarters and the most successful Serendipity Labs location in the nation.

Midtown Flats

Midtown Flats is a multi-family residential building that contains 206-studio to three-bedroom apartments and a 124-space parking garage for the residents, located along the newly expanded Monon Boulevard. This building contains 223,148 square feet of residential space.

Midtown Flats broke ground in the summer of 2017.
